              Merry Christmas Everyone!

Sorry to have been missing for a few weeks- between car breaking down, and extra work, trying to make cards- I’ve been chasing my own tail all the time. I hope everyone is ready (or almost) for Christmas, and want to wish everyone a very Happy, Peaceful and enjoyable Christmas, wherever you are. So, back to the Wednesday Wander around the Workdesks of the World, courtesy of Santas Little Helper, Julia Dunnit at The Stamping Ground.

These are some of the cards I have been working on, using a Dreamweavers Bauble stencil, embossing paste, and adding some glitter to the paste before it dries. I also tried out the Tim Holtz Rosette die I bought at the NEC last month. I  found that by trimming the paper down slightly, I could make different sizes of rosette- then I had to get a couple of small scalloped punches to make the centres, as the original was out of proportion. I did try cutting them down with deckle-edged scissors, but didn’t really like the finished look. Punches are quicker too, 🙂

I also did them using my original Cuttlebug plates, rather than the extended ones, after I looked at the price of them. OMG! HOW MUCH???! I really cannot justify buying them, no matter how often I used them.  I will post the pictures of how I did them on my Cuttlebug page over Christmas, but as you can see, it does work, and is not really difficult. I actually found it much trickier getting the rosettes into shape. That is so fiddly!!!
These were some made-to-order cards utilising few images I have stamped up previously. I hope you all have a great day, I shall be visiting over the next couple of days- yes, I STILL have some cards to make- and I haven’t bought a turkey yet- the tree & decorations only went up on Monday-I am so going to change my ways next year!

  3. Glad you're ok and just busy!! Love all your cards on display, and the rosettes. Well done you on using the normal plates (having just bought some extended ones for my SIL!) Happy Christmas to you & yours.

  4. Gorgeous cards, as I have come to expect. Love the way you have used the pendant stamp to get so many different effects. I still haven't bought the turkey … thanks for the reminder!!! I am so going to change my ways!!! LOL

  5. LoVe those Christmas cards … the bauble stencil is just gorgeous and I love making those rosettes too …just make the cards so expensive to post and I must – must – MUST – aim for flat cards this year! Merry Christmas Shaz and look forward to another happy year of crafting and blogging with you in 2012. Debbie #61 (I think – forgot to look!) xXx

  6. Love your cards! Those rosettes are pleasing too though I wouldn't have the patience to do them myself – I don't do 'fiddly' so always admire those who can!!
Wishing you joy and happiness this Christmas,
    Hugs, LLJ #43 xx

  7. Gorgeous cards and those rosettes are very pretty but all my (all four of them I posted) have been flat this year as I need my pennies for yet more stash.
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year.

  8. I know what you mean about the extended plates it was at that point that I flogged my bug on ebay and got a big shot. Their plates being a third of the price. Hope everything settles down for you. I'm sure everything will get done – it has to doesn't it! Merry Christmas to you and yours Wendyx

  9. Sounds like you've been desperately busy Shaz, I really hope you get to put your feet up a bit over Christmas. Lovely cards too, particularly like the ones with the baubles on them. Have a wonderful Christmas.

    Hugs

  10. Those rossettes might be tricky but your results are worthwhile. Your cards are all stunning. hope you have a lovely Christmas and wish you much Craftyness for the New Year. Hugs Mrs A. & Two Monkeys.

  11. No wonder you've been missing in action, look at all the work on those cards – lovely!! All the fiddling with the rosettes is always worth it but tell me, what'd day stick em down with? I've tried loads but not got a great solution just yet…

  12. No, you won't be any different next year. You will still be running late and have too much to do, just like the rest of us. If you are too organised, I will send Merlin up to rearrange things for you. Love the cards, though (I still have to make yours, hopefully before Christmas this year)

  13. looking good – fabulous rosettes and cards! Well done you…
Thanks for sharing in such a busy week! Hope you have a very festive and wonderfully merry time – see you in 2012! Sarah at 11.

  14. Hi Shaz, a great set of cards and I like what you did with the bauble template. Love the rosettes and have thought about getting that die but after what you said about the Cuttlebug plates I think I'll stick to making them on using my Hougie board – more time consuming but less costly 🙂 I hope you and yours have a very merry Christmas and a happy holiday. 15. You might like to pop over to my blog and read about yet another scam which seems to be doing the rounds (we have just been called from them), just when we are up to our eyes in last minute preparations. Have a lovely Christmas.
